# Slash Commands

> Complete reference for all Claude Code slash commands

Slash commands let you control Claude Code directly from the chat input. Type `/` followed by a command name at any point during a session to invoke it. Commands do not consume conversation context — they run outside the normal message flow.

## Session

| Command | Description |
| - | - |
| `/help` | Show available commands and keyboard shortcuts |
| `/clear` | Clear the current conversation and start fresh |
| `/compact` | Compress the current conversation context to save tokens. Use this when you are approaching the context limit or want to keep costs low |
| `/resume` | Restore and continue a previous session |
| `/context` | Visualize how much context the current conversation is using |
| `/cost` | Show an estimate of token usage and API cost for the current session |
| `/exit` | Exit Claude Code |
| `/version` | Display the current Claude Code version |
| `/share` | Share a link to the current session |

## Code

| Command | Description |
| - | - |
| `/review` | Ask Claude to perform a code review on recent changes |
| `/diff` | View the current working-tree diff |
| `/plan` | Enter plan mode — Claude will outline a plan before making any changes |
| `/output-style` | Change how Claude formats its responses (e.g., verbose, concise) |
| `/copy` | Copy the last response to the clipboard |
| `/files` | List files that Claude has read or modified during this session |

## Git

| Command | Description |
| - | - |
| `/commit` | Create a git commit for staged (or all) changes. Claude writes the commit message automatically based on the diff |
| `/branch` | Show or switch git branches |
| `/pr_comments` | Fetch and display comments on the current pull request |

## Configuration

| Command | Description |
| - | - |
| `/config` | Open settings to view or edit Claude Code configuration |
| `/model` | Switch the AI model Claude Code is using |
| `/theme` | Change the terminal color theme |
| `/memory` | View and manage Claude's persistent memory notes |
| `/skills` | List, add, or remove skills (reusable prompt workflows) |
| `/hooks` | Manage lifecycle hooks that run before or after tool calls |
| `/permissions` | View and manage tool permission rules |
| `/keybindings` | View or customize keyboard shortcuts |
| `/plugin` | Manage installed plugins |
| `/mcp` | View, add, or remove MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers |
| `/voice` | Toggle voice input mode |

## System

| Command | Description |
| - | - |
| `/doctor` | Run diagnostics on your Claude Code environment — checks Node version, authentication, network connectivity, and more |
| `/login` | Authenticate with your Anthropic account or API key |
| `/logout` | Sign out of the current session |
| `/tasks` | View background tasks that are currently running |
| `/vim` | Toggle Vim keybinding mode for the input field |
| `/desktop` | Hand off the current session to the Claude desktop app |
| `/mobile` | Hand off the current session to the Claude mobile app |
| `/upgrade` | Upgrade Claude Code to the latest version |
| `/usage` | Show a summary of API usage and spend |
| `/feedback` | Submit feedback or report a bug |

<Note>
Not all commands are available in every environment. Feature-gated commands (such as `/voice` and `/desktop`) may not appear if the underlying capability is not enabled in your installation.
</Note>

<Tip>
If Claude is approaching the context limit, run `/compact` to summarize the conversation history. This reduces token usage without losing important context, and usually costs much less than starting a fresh session.
